Bioinspired 4D Printing: From Material to Building Scale

On July 16th at 19:00, ICD Research Associate Ekin Sila Sahin will present at “3D Printing - Where Is the Journey Going? (3D-Druck - wohin geht die Reise?)”, an event organised by aed stuttgart e.V and the 3D Pioneers Challenge at Material Bank® Europe.

In her lecture titled “Bioinspired 4D Printing: From Material to Building Scale”, Ekin will share her doctoral research and discuss how 3D/4D printing technologies, together with computational fabrication methods, can expand the design space of self-shaping structures while addressing the functional and environmental demands of our built environment. The lecture will be followed by presentations from other invited speakers and a panel discussion on architecture, sustainability, and emerging technologies.
