On September 8, 2025, Research Associate Harrison Hildebrandt will join the forum Future Matter(s): Computational Design and Emerging Practices in AEC, hosted by Seoul National University of Science and Technology with support from De.A.Grid_Studio. The event brings together computational designers from academia and industry to explore new methods shaping the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) field.

Hildebrandt’s lecture, Computational Design and Prefabrication for Fibrous Architecture, will draw on his experience in the ITECH master’s program and his current research in robotic fabrication of fibre-based building components. He will discuss the advantages of fibre-reinforced polymers as a sustainable construction material and demonstrate how computational design and robotics can unlock their potential. His talk will feature the Hybrid Flax Pavilion as a case study, focusing on the design and fabrication of its hybrid timber–flax fiber roof elements.

Special thanks to Seoul National University, Seoultech School of Architecture, and De.A.Grid_Studio for hosting and organizing the event.
