IEEE ICRA 2026 Best Student Paper Award

We are excited to announce that our publication won a IEEE ICRA Best Student Paper Award in 2026. The paper, titled 'LASER: Level-Based Asynchronous Scheduling and Execution Regime for Spatiotemporally Constrained Multi-Robot Timber Manufacturing', is written by Zhenxiang Huang, Lior Skoury, Tim Stark, Aaron Wagner, Hans Jakob Wagner, Thomas Wortmann, and Achim Menges.

This award recognizes the best paper authored primarily by a student and presented by the student at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA). The award is funded by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and has been established since 1988. Papers are judged based on technical merit, originality, potential impact on the field, clarity of the written paper, and quality of the conference presentation.

First author Zhenxiang Huang presented this paper during Award Session 2 at ICRA 2026 on June 2nd. This paper has been selected as a award finalist in Best Paper Award in Automation.

The award was presented during ICRA 2026 Awards Lunch on June 4th in Vienna, Austria.
