We are pleased to announce the release of Opossum 3.2. The latest version of the optimization plug-in for Grasshopper adds MAC support and new optimization algorithms.
Since 2016, Opossum has been available for Windows users only. It now runs natively on Mac (Apple silicon only) and makes Opossum the only fully free optimization plugin running on both platforms.
To further broaden the range of problems the optimization solver can handle, additional algorithms were integrated into Opossum:
- Bayesian optimization with TPE
- Direct search with MADS
- Hypervolume estimation algorithm HYPE
Opossum 3.0.0-beta as well as 1.5.0 and lower has been developed at the Advanced Architecture Lab with support from the SUTD-MIT International Design Centre.
Opossum is currently developed at the Department for Computing in Architecture at the University of Stuttgart.
