"Computational Approaches to Architecture Design Exploration: Forms, Constraints, Evolution"

Long is a researcher and academic tutor in Computational Design, Digital Fabrication, and BIM. He has been a Research Associate at the Institute for Computational Design (ICD) at the University of Stuttgart since 2014, his academic background is in Computer Science, with an emphasis in 3D Computer Graphics. Long graduated with a bachelor`s degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge in 2010 and a master`s degree with Distinction in Computer Graphics and Virtual Environment from University College London (UCL) in 2011. As a computer scientist with several years working with the AEC community, Long has developed a deep interest in computational design. His main interests include computational geometries, computational form finding, digital/robotic fabrication, generative design, evolutionary computation. Long values open-source approaches and advocates the sharing and exchanging of ideas and knowledge in the field. He has a great passion for teaching programming, algorithms, mathematics and computational design thinking, especially to practitioners in the AEC field.
