ICD researcher Laura Kiesewetter will present our ongoing research project Material-Driven Computational Design and Manufacturing for Self-Forming Curved Wood Furniture at LIGNA.Stage on 28 May 2025, from 16:00 to 17:00 (MESZ), Halle 12, Stand A16. The presentation will be held together with project partner Prof. Markus Rüggeberg from TU Dresden.
The project explores how the hygroscopic behavior of wood can be computationally harnessed to enable efficient manufacturing, compact transportation and autonomous assembly of curved wooden furniture through self-shaping.
LIGNA.Stage is dedicated to connecting applied research with industry through targeted matchmaking. Supported by the FNR and funded by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the platform offers a space to pitch innovative wood research projects to key accounts and leading stakeholders in the sector.
We warmly invite you to join us and learn more about our work!
