Materials Labyrinth: Material innovations for the future of construction
17.04.2019 - 06.10.2019, Bundesgartenschau Heilbronn 2019, Germany

ICD research on 4D-Printed Weather-Responsive Shape-Changing Material Systems developed by Tiffany Cheng and Yasaman Tahouni is on display at BUGA 2019 as part of the Materials Labyrinth exhibition. Nature is a major inspiration for designing architectural systems that are in tune with changing weather conditions. The installation transforms its shape in response to fluctuations in humidity without external energy, by emulating the material organization of plants through computational design and 3D-printing.
