Special area on sustainable material innovations for the work of the future

KölnMesse 25.-29.10.2022

Whether it's digital surfaces made of transparent wood, upholstery fabrics made of hemp scraps, or self-forming furniture made of wood, sustainable solutions for interior design and architecture have been in development for several years.

Materials for sustainable interiors
The increasing pressure for climate-friendly materials is now flushing the results of many years of research onto the market. A new industry is emerging with offerings that fit ideally into the concept of a circular economy. The biological cycle offers the greatest potential for innovation.

With the demonstrations for climate-friendly policies at the 2021 federal elections, the "Fridays for Future" movement has reached its temporary peak in Germany. And there is also a growing desire among designers and architects for a functioning circular economy and products with reduced CO2 emissions.
