Material Geometry
Unfolding Architectural Material Potentials using Experimental Computational Models

If art in one sense can be seen as an experiment, and architecture is considered both as a form of art and in many ways a material practice, architecture in an artistic context becomes a material experiment.

Matter as a counterpoint is no longer tied to the analogue realm only. Computation as information processing looks through the eye of both theoretical models and empirical observations to gather data on matter itself, establishing a combined material-machinic computational model. The aim of the workshop is to move fluidly between these realms of computation in order to enable the participants to explore their architectural material system in the most appropriate informative mode.
