Integrative Computational Design & Robotic Fabrication

Winter Semester 2011 / 2012 | ICD Seminar
Diploma 2.2.6
CAAD / CAM II

Prof. A. Menges, R. La Magna, T. Schwinn

The purpose of this course is to give an introduction into computational design methods, digital simulation, and fabrication processes. The focus is on the familiarization with digital design techniques such as parametric and associative design, scripting, as well as generative design methods, offering the opportunity for a seamless digital integration of computational design methods with robotic fabrication.

As a complementary course to the “Performative Morphology II” studio, it is providing the opportunity to develop the digital tools necessary for the simulation of the physical processes of form generation, as well as relaying the parameters of robotic fabrication with those of the architectural design process.

This course is open exclusively to the participants of the “Performative Morphology II” studio.
