Samarth is a Research Associate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD) at the University of Stuttgart.
He holds an MPhil from the Division of Integrative Systems and Design (ISD) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where his thesis “On the Planning of Handling Large Arbitrarily Curved Glass Sheets” focused on the manipulation and handling of curved glass panels for architectural applications. He also holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from HKUST, specializing in robotics for property management.
Prior to joining ICD, Samarth worked at D-Shape in Hong Kong, where he contributed to research and development in large-scale additive manufacturing (LFAM) for concrete 3D printing in architectural and marine applications.
His current research interests include computational design, robotic fabrication, and material-oriented construction methods, with a focus on integrative design-to-production workflows.
