We are pleased to announce that the German Research Foundation (DFG) has approved a 4-year extension of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1244 "Adaptive Skins and Structures for the Built Environment of Tomorrow."

Within ICD’s subproject A02, Research Associate Mathias Maierhofer will continue to investigate integrative design methods and computational design tools for adaptive (i.e., ultralightweight) structures while expanding the research focus towards their reconfiguration over time. With this, we aim to explore a more extensive conception of adaptation that not only addresses changes in structural, but also architectural requirements.
