Gili Ron is a research associate and a doctoral candidate at the Institute for Computational Design and Construction (ICD). She holds a Bachelor in Architecture from the Azrieli School of Architecture, Tel-Aviv University (TAU) and a Master in Architecture from the Emergent Technologies and Design Master Programme, The Architectural Association, London (EmTech, AA). Her master thesis studied desert region vernacular architecture and proposed design and fabrication with on-site robotic fabrication and local materials, for environmentally resilient settlements in the Sahara.
Prior to joining ICD, Ron worked as a researcher in digital design and fabrication at HENN GmbH, explored woman-machine collaboration at the Berlin Open Lab, UDK Berlin, and worked as an architectural designer at Burckhardt+Partner, Berlin, HDR, Berlin, and Mayslitz-Kassif, Tel-Aviv. She is a contributor and editor to Utopia Digital Magazine, speculating about SciFi and architecture.
With a deep interest in HRI and techno-feminism, her research interests center on human-robot collaboration in co-design and fabrication.
